Verification
Verified accounts and businesses get a small blue check badge that signals they've been confirmed by the HollowPurple team. It builds trust with the community and on the marketplace.
Two Kinds of Verification
| Badge | Applied to | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Verified Account | A user | The person has been confirmed by HollowPurple staff |
| Verified Business | An organization | The organization is a real, legitimate business |
A verified-account badge is independent of a verified-business badge — a user can be verified without their org being verified, and vice versa.
Where the Badge Shows Up
Once granted, the badge appears next to the name on:
- Posts in the social feed (verified author)
- Articles (verified author)
- Profile pages (verified user)
- Marketplace company cards and profiles (verified business)
- Marketplace service cards (when the owning business is verified)
- Verified user lists in the home feed sidebar
How to Get Verified
Verification is granted by the HollowPurple team — there's no self-service toggle. To request verification:
- Make sure your profile or organization is complete:
- For accounts — full name, avatar, bio
- For businesses — logo, industry, address, contact details, at least a few active services
- Email verification must be confirmed (for accounts)
- Reach out to the HollowPurple team via the contact page
The team will review and apply the badge on your account or organization.
Removing Verification
Verification can be revoked by HollowPurple staff if a user or business no longer meets the requirements (for example, abandoned accounts, policy violations).
Tips
- The badge is earned, not bought — it's not a paid feature.
- A verified business badge boosts visibility on the Marketplace and credibility on every public-facing page.
- Keeping your profile fields filled out (about, location, industry) helps the verification team confirm legitimacy faster.
